A.The portion of the golf course to be fertilized is 30 meters by 50 meters.
B.The amount of fertilizers must be needed is 40 kg and fertilizer must be nitrogen and potash in 6:4 proportions respectively.

hi,
1) statement one tells us about the size of golf course . nothing about nitro.. insufficient
2) total fertilizer is given as 40 kg and ratio is 6:4.. so nitro=6/10*40=24... sufficient

ans B

Hello,

Kindly help to explain the answer as B. There is no mention about the usage of 40Kg. Meaning on how much land will it be used..

The confusion here is question statement states that " to fertilize the grass on a certain portion of golf course" and statement B states total fertilizer is 40 kg , so what amount of 40kg is used to fertilize certain portion of grass is not present.
So I feel both statements are insufficient to answer question

hi kanigmat011AND Bingo123,
the question is
How much nitrogen is needed in the mixture used by a lawn maintenance company to fertilize the grass on a certain portion of a golf course?...
B tells us
B.The amount of fertilizers must be needed is 40 kg and fertilizer must be nitrogen and potash in 6:4 proportions respectively...
if you look at the coloured portion B tells us what we require to know...
B is telling us that fertilizer needed is 40 kg and it points directly to the fertilizer required for that portion of grass, if u look at the coloured portion above...

Simple question.
But, what if there were more substances in the fertilizer other than Nitrogen and Potash, in that case B is not sufficient.
Correct me if I am wrong.
