hi guys,

i am with paul and this one for the private tutoring sessions. i dont think it's worth it, just for the fact that you can get a 700+ score without going broke. i still havent take the exam yet but i am preparing for it. i dont plan on taking any fancy courses, just stay at home and study my a$$ off using prep materials provided by the good folks at kaplan, arco, barron, pr, delta, ets, friends and all others previous test takers especially the ones on this forum. it takes great discipline and hard work to reach a goal of 700+ score. i am very thankful that i found this forum, to which i have become addicted. i am already loosing sleep and missing work because i spent almost all my nights reading tru the sea of posts and at the same time work on improving my sc and cr. i dont know if i am taking it too far but it think i can do it in 4-5 months. i know getting to 750+ will not be easy, but so many of the posts on this forum are so inspiring. most of the guys here have achieved their desired score in less than 3 months of prep. i know i am not a good test taker so i want to take my time and drill the cr@p out of the GMAT. its just the kind of guy i am. or have become as of lately. i guess the best story that inspired my was about my best friend who had lost all hope about getting into a good med school after his teacher telling him he will never become a doctor. my friend became obsessed with proving his prof wrong. so he took a summer off - he locked himself into his room with a ton of books. he had half of the city library in there and probably every book on chemistry, bio and anatomy printed in the last decade. i remember not seeing him for weeks outside. he used to spend 10 - 12 hrs a day studying and creating strategies for his admissions test. and what happend in 3 months - the SOB got the highest scores in the country and got into the best program. he received a letter, a medal and a ton of awards from the test creators saying that for the last 10 years they havent seen a perfect score - 0 mistakes. all questions answered flawlessly. and med stuff is hard . stuff like that amazes me, what determination and what will power. i still talk to him occasionally and told him about how he inspired me. we joke a lot that i would probably go insane and score in the lower 300's, which will be hillarious and at the same time impossible. I would ask him - what does it take to score so high??? and he would answer - it takes a chair, a desk and a lot of cigarettes.;]] lol anyhow enough of ranting and daydreaming, i bet scoring in the 99th percentile on the GMAT would feel good. we'll se on D-DAy in April - MAy. until that day comes, i got some 8 or more old editions of kaplan and about 200 paper tests to go tru.
