Just got an email from Columbia...yahooo.......I am IN.....I was a re-applicant from the last year and applied really early this year.........I am also admitted to INSEAD (Jan Intake) and already paid my deposit of $6500...but my post-MBA goals involve working in US and therefore, I am thinking to let INSEAD go……

Could you maybe share with us poor souls who still have to finish our applications why they rejected you last year and what you changed this year that you think got you in? That would help us greatly!

Thank you everyone...why they rejected me last year? I think my career essay was not that crisp or in other words my career path was not clear. Please keep in mind that my goals are sort of non-traditional. While it always helps to be non-traditional, it really puts you on the spot. Questions such as why MBA/why Columbia/why Now become much more important than traditional applicants who want to move to IB or MC. One more thing. I applied quite late last year. I also made sure that I enhance my candidacy on multiple fronts (professional, extra curricular etc).
