I think 680 and 690 were never a bad score. You were determined to cross 700 mark. Great determination. Heartiest congratulations.

You are right. To a certain extent, this last re-take was to satisfy my own ego.

I want to ask one question. After finishing MGMAT books or any other preparation books, how did you practice for each section without losing touch with the other? What was the split for each question type you practiced everyday after covering basics?

I think this is where the OG questions came in help. Also the ways Knewton summarized all the concepts, tested each concept as soon as it is done and tested all the concepts at the end of class were really helpful.

I am also a re-taker. But now I am confused about how to proceed.

I thoroughly did OG-12,10 last time and now when I practice those questions, I almost know the answer, so no point in practicing. Questions from other books are way too different from OG/GMAT.

I started 1000SC, but they do not have the official ans, so confusion again !

Background - I am also an engineer. QA not a problem. Want to improve VA.

I would still recommend 1000 SC. Dont fret about right answers but at least try learning from mistakes. Do u see obvious mistakes you made if your answer does not match to the correct answer. And to be honest I saw that 95 out of 100 times, the right answer would be the answer given there. So it is still a great great practising tool. Also try MGMAT CATs - that is a huge database also. And because you will have forgotten OG 12 after practising 500 odd questions, go back and see if your hit ratio improved or not. That is all I can. Is your timing good?
