I hate those inference questions. Like this one, it just doesn't click for me in 1.5-2 minutes. Well, I guess I have to take a literally blind guess and move on.

French divers recently found a large cave along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. The cave is accessible moly through an underwater tunnel. The interior of the cave is completely field with seawater and contains numerous large stalagmites, which are the only stony pillars that form when drops of water fall repeatedly on a single spot on a cave flor, leaving behind numerous deposits that accumulate over time.

The information above most strongly supports which one of the following?

A.The Meditteranean Sea was at a higher level in the past than it is now
B. The water level within the cave is higher now than it was once
C. The French drivers were the first people who knew that the tunnel leading to the cave existed
D. There was onve an entrance to the cave besides the underwater tunnel
E. Seawater in the Mediterranean has a lower mineral content now than it had when the stalagmites were being formed

B. Since the cave has water at the floor level ( tunnel is through the water ) and the stalagmites are formed when water falls on hard surfaces.....we can infer that once upon a time the floor of the cave wasn't filled with water.

I hope my answer isn't filled with gibberish..OA ?

Earlier the cave didnt had water and water used to tickle from top, and now its completely under water...
Doesnt convinces me completely but no other choice apart from A comes this close

Never make a completely "blind" guess. At least try to eliminate one or more illogical/inconsistent answer choices.

In this CR, C,D, and E can be immediately tossed out.

(B) makes the most sense.

If you examine the answer choice you will find that B is the only one standing. Rest can be attacked with ease.
