IESE Recommendation question

Hi all,

My recommender confused with the following question in IESE recommendation form:

Do you know of any personal circumstances which might affect the applicant's performance within a demanding MBA Program? If so, please explain

Frankly speaking, I am also got confused, because it seems to me like "do you have any disabilities?".

Can you please advise?

Well, I would say go for : I am not aware of any personal circumstances that would affect <your name>'s performance at IESE. In fact, <your name> is a great worker, taking amaing initiatives at work and backing them up with solid performance....go on till the space ends

Yeah, that seems a strange question to ask. Maybe having 3 or more kids :) ? Or ADD? Or other disabilities like you suggested. Or someone going through a divorce? But how/why is the recommender supposed to know that?

I would say better for your recommender to just say no.

I also think that just plain "no" may be OK, but they have given to this answer 20(!) lines, whereas to other questions (strengths and weaknesses) just per 5 lines. That is why I am not sure if just "no" will be enough here.

Any IESE applicants to advice?

It has nothing to do with disabilities, just have him/her write a sentence that says he doesnt think there is anything holding you back from succeeding.
