Statement 1 is sufficient as another relation in x and y is given. 2 equations ,2 variables. Value of x can be calculated.
Statement 2 is also sufficient value of y=15 is given. By putting this in original equation,we can get the value of x .

Both are sufficient (D)

To find the value of x

2x - y = 75

Statement 1

x = 3y

=> 2x = 6y

=> 6y - y = 75

=> y = 15

=> x = 45

Statement 1 is sufficient

Statement 2

y = 15

2x = y + 75

=> 2x = 15 + 75 = 90

=> x = 45

Statement 2 is suffcient

Hence option D

You have two variables and you require two DISTINCT equation to solve them with some numeric value free of variable

2x-y=75..

1) X=3y
Sufficient as two distinct equation
No need to solve but let's see
2*3y-y=75.......6y-y=75.........y=75/5=15
z=3*15=45
Sufficient

2)y=15
2x-15=75....2x=90....X=45
Sufficient
