SOLUTION

If 3/x = 2 and y/4 = 3, then (3 + y)/(x + 4) =

(A) 10/9
(B) 3/2
(C) 20/11
(D) 30/11
(E) 5

$$\frac{3}{x} = 2$$ --> $$x=\frac{3}{2}$$;

$$\frac{y}{4} = 3$$ --> $$y=12$$.

Substitute: $$\frac{3 + y}{x + 4} =\frac{3+12}{\frac{3}{2}+4}=\frac{15}{\frac{11}{2}}=\frac{30}{11}$$.

From the question x=3/2 and y=12

Substitute this in the equation:-
(3+12)/(3/2+4)=2x(15)/11=30/11
Option (D)
