May you have a nice day

Well I do not agree with Veritas explanation... I'd like to know what do you think about it

49 < x < 54

=> x can take values from 50, 51, 52, 53 or any other non integer values between them

Statement 1) x is not a prime number.

x can be 50, 51, 52, 52.5 etc

Statement 1 is not sufficient

Statement 2) x is odd.

x can be 51 or 53

Statement 2 is not sufficient

Combining statements 1 and 2

x can take value of 53 only as 51 is not a prime number

Statements 1 and 2 together are sufficient

Hence option C

49<x<54 means x could be 50, 51, 52, 53

1) x is not a prime number. It means x could be 50, 51 or 52 [Insuff]

2) x is odd. It means x could be 51, 53. [Insuff]

Combine (1) & ( 2)

51 is the only value that satisfies both the statement

Answer: C.
