A. 58.12%
B. 58.33%
C. 58.55%
D. 58.76%
E. 58.97%

[Reveal] Spoiler: Resolution
The ratio a:b is 5:7, and therefore the share of B will be b/(a+b) or 7/(5+7). The solutions talk about percentages, so there is no need to multiply by the amount - $936 -, but this could be a different or potential question. Remember always that the share of a is a/(a+b) and the share of b is b/(a+b). [Reveal] Spoiler: OA Last edited by Bunuel on 18 Feb 2013, 03:02, edited 1 time in total. If the required answer is in percentage, then the amount given $936 is a diversion. Not required in computation $$Answer = B = \frac{7}{7+5} * 100 = 58.33%$$ _________________ Kindly press "+1 Kudos" to appreciate Intern Joined: 15 Jan 2013 Posts: 39 Concentration: Finance, Operations GPA: 4 Followers: 0 Kudos [?]: 27 [0], given: 6 Re: If$936 are divided between worker A and worker B in the rat [#permalink]

B's share= 7/(5+7) of the total=7/12 of the total
B's percentage share= 7/12*100 = 58.33%

If $936 are divided between worker A and worker B in the ratio 5: 7,what is the share that worker B will get? Consider the total amount as ( 50 +7 ) 12 So B gets 7/12 of the total share ( Whatever be the total wage ) , now we need to calculate the % share of B Hence B's wage as a % of the total wage is 7/12*100 => 58.33% _________________ Thanks and Regards Abhishek....
