If a truck averages 20 miles per gallon of gasoline on the first third of the trip, and 35 miles to the gallon on the last fifth of the trip, how much gasoline did the truck use?
(1) The trip was 600 miles long.
(2) The truck averaged 25 miles to a gallon of gasoline.

Knowing how much gasoline was consumed for the first 200 miles, and the last 120 miles is not enough.
We need to know how much gasoline was consumed during the rest of the trip or have average consumption of the entire trip.
Hence, insufficient.
(2) The truck averaged 25 miles to a gallon of gasoline.
Though we have an idea about the average gasoline consumed, we need the total distance traveled to determine the total gasoline consumed.
On combining the above information, we can calculate the amount of gasoline used(Option C)
