If Aaliyah eats at a constant rate, will Aaliyah have enough time to eat twelve slices of pie?

(1) Aaliyah can fit two slices of pie into her mouth at one time.
(2) If Aaliyah had one-third more time, she would be able to eat three more slices of pie.

B

If she is able to eat at 1/3 her time 3 slices of pie it means that she can eat 3 slices * 3 1/3 of time.

So she can eat just 9 slices within given time horizon.

IMO...B

Let x be the original time.
Efficiency or Rate (Aaliyah) =9/X (since she can eat 3 slices in x/3 time)

Therefore
No. of slices that she can eat in X time = X(time) * 9/X(efficiency or rate) =9 slices.

Say Aliyah eats at rate R pie/min

ST-1:
Doesn't tell anything about rate or time. Not Suff.

ST-2:
Say, Aaliyah was given time "T" to eat.
At rate R pie/min Aliyah could eat "RT" no. of pies.
If she was given additional T/3 time ie. total 4T/3 mins she could eat 3 more pies. For time 4T/3 mins at rate R pie/min she eats "4RT/3" pies.
Now,

(4RT/3) - (RT) = 3
Solving this we get RT=9 and 4RT/3=12.
Therefore, Aliyah didn't have enough time to eat 12 pies. In given time she could only eat 9 pies. If she was given additional T/3 mins she could all of 12 nos. of pie.
Hence, ST-2 is Suff.
