(−4,4) Coordinates of Point B = (2, 2) (Same x coordinate as that of A and Y co ordinate 3 units up than y co ordinate of A) Coordinates of Point C = (4, 2) (Same Y coordinate as that of B and X coordinate 6 units Left than X coordinate of B) Coordinates of Point D = (4, 5) (Same x coordinate as that of C and Y coordinate 7 units Down than Y coordinate of C) Coordinates of Point E = (5, 5) (Same Y coordinate as that of D and X coordinate 9 units Right than X coordinate of D) Answer: Option C

Official Explanation You could waste time finding both the x and the ycoordinates of point E, but you don't have to go that far. Focus on the xcoordinate first, and then glance at the answer choices. Can you eliminate a few? Since parallel lines CB=6 and DE=9 begin from the same line CD, the xcoordinate of point E is larger by 9−6=3 than that of point B (in other words, point E is three coordinates to the right of B). Since BA is parallel to CD, the xcoordinate of point B is equal to that of point A=2. Thus, the xcoordinate of E is 2+3=5. Only answer choice C has an xcoordinate of 5, so this is the right answer. Answer: C
