19. If Carmen had 12 more tapes, she would have twice as many tapes as Rafael. Does Carmen have fewer tapes than Rafael?
(1) Rafael has more than 5 tapes.
(2) Carmen has fewer than 12 tapes

Can someone explain why A is insufficient?

Lets say C is the no. tapes Carmen has, and R is the no. tapes Rafael has

C + 12 = 2R
From A :R>5

For R = 6 till 11 -> R > C,
for R = 12 -> R=C
For R > 12 ->C > R

So A is not sufficient

B

statement 1 is insuff because Carmen can have 18 tapes and Rafael has 15 tapes
or carment could have 6 tapes and Rafael has 9 tapes.
