E. We do not know with certainty which military is stronger, country X`s or the enemy.

My pick is D!
This is a case of If X then Y and the only conclusion for this argument is If not Y, then not X.

X is Country X does not intervene
Y is whole region will definitely fall
SO, If not Y, which is the whole region will definitely not fall, then not X which is Country X does intervene.

I got E as well.... but what is the difference between C and E.
To me both E and C means same.

Going by this explaination we should get 'C'.
Opposite of 'definitely' will be 'probably'. It will only be a probability that the country 'Y' would be in the enemy influence if 'X' intervened.

What says U?
