Statement 1: Working alone, Joe can complete the job in 3 hours. Together, they complete in 2 hours. The fraction of job done by Joe= Efficiency of Joe/ Total efficiency required by both= (1/3)/(1/2)=2/3. Sufficient.

Statement 2: Sam did 1/3 of the job. The fraction of job done by Joe=1-1/3=2/3. Sufficient.

IMO, Option D.
