NS from statement 2 : k can be 2,3. k>2, so 3. Sufficient Hence my answer was B. Am i missing something You probably misunderstood and worked for only primes. The question stem states integers. from statement 1 : Factors of 30 that are between 2 and 8 are: 3, 5 and 6. Not Sufficient from statement 2: Factors of 12 that are between 2 and 8 are: 3 and 6. Not Sufficient Both taken together: k can be either 3 or 6. Not Sufficient. You missed 6. Hope that helps.

Bunuel VeritasPrepKarishma niks18Is B incorrect since Q mentions about factors (ie no when divided by factor will leave remainder as zero) and not prime factors (B's distinct prime factors shall be 2 and 3) Since only 3 falls in range given by Q, B would have been correct answer choice. Yes. The factors of 12 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 12. While prime factors of 12 are 2 and 3.

(1) The factors of 30 are {1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 15, 30}
Factors that are between 2 and 8 are {3, 5, 6} > We have 3 choices > Not Suff.
(2) The factors of 12 are {1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12}
Factors that are between 2 and 8 are {3, 4, 6} > We have 3 choices > Not Suff.
(1)(2) k=3 and k=6 are the two possible values for k > Not suff
Answer E
