l + t = 4

l + t + 2t = 9

4 + 2t = 9

2t = 5

t = \(\frac{5}{2}\)

l = \(\frac{3}{2}\)

l + 2t = \(\frac{3}{2} + 2 * \frac{5}{2}\)

= \(\frac{13}{2}\)

OPTION: A

If \(l + t = 4\) and \(l + 3t = 9\), then which one of the following equals \(l + 2t\)?

(A) \(\frac{13}{2}\)

(B) \(\frac{19}{2}\)

(C) \(\frac{15}{2}\)

(D) \(\frac{17}{3}\)

(E) \(\frac{21}{4}\)

solve for \(l + t = 4\) and \(l + 3t = 9\)
l=3/2 and t= 5/2
so \(l + 2t\)
IMO A ; \(\frac{13}{2}\)

Adding both the equation, we have 2l+4t=13
Dividing by 2,
We get l+2t=13/2
