If Mario was 32 years old 8 years ago, how old was he x years ago?
(A) x-40
(B) x-24
(C) 40 -x
(D) 24 - x
(E) 24 + x

Since Mario was 32 years old 8 years ago, then he's 32 + 8 = 40 years old now. Therefore, x years ago he was 40 - x years old.

Answer: C.

Today, Mario will be 32+4=40 years old.
Therefore, x years ago, he was 40-x

If Mario's current age is M, then Mario's age 8 years ago = M-8;
Here, M-8 = 32; therefore, M=40 (Mario's current age)
His age x years ago means M-x or 40-x;
C is the answer.

--------------Mario's Age = 32 years---------Mario's Age = 32 + 8 or 40 years

Now Mario's age is 40 years, therefore, he was 40 - x years old before x years.

Answer (C).

Current age = 32+8 = 40

x years ago =40-x

Present age of Mario is 40

So, Mario's age x years ago will be 40 - x , answer will be (C)

8 years ago Mario was 32 years old, now Mario is 40 years old.

Mario is now = 32 + 8 = 40 years old
x years ago, he was = 40-x years old
