If p=3$$t^2$$+2 and r=6t−5, where t is a positive number, and if p+r=69, then t=

Solution

p+r= 3$$t^2$$+6t-3=69
p+r= 3$$t^2$$+6t-72=0
p+r= $$t^2$$+2t−24=0
(Dividing both sides by 3)
p+r=(t+6)(t-4)=0(Factorising the equation)
t= -6,4
Since it is mentioned in the question stem that "t" is a positive number, t=4

IMO C
