(1) r/3s = 1/4
(2) s= r+4

statement 1: r/3s=1/4 or r/s = 3/4. s/r=4/3. r/s<s/r. sufficient

statement 2: s=r+4. is r/r+4 < r+4/r? yes it is, since r is positive. sufficient.

I would think D.

Is r/s < s/r, r,s > 0

we can simplify inequality to:
Is r^2 < s^2

(1) r = 3/4s or r < s or r^2 < s^2

(2) s = r+4 or r < s or r^2 < s^2

B it is....

as long as r and s are postive

R/S=3/4 (I) well if r and s are integers OK, but if they are fractions..then No...Insuff

EDIT: I thought an example would go a long way

r=3, s=4

r/s=3/4 OK then s/r =4/3 (clearly r/s<s/r)

now

r=1/2 s=2/3

r/s=3/4 but s/r = 1/3 (clearly r/s>s/r) Insuff...

(ii) S is bigger than R...

Can you give examples pls.
My understanding is:
if r,s > 0 and
R/S = 3/4 then
1 / (R/S) = 1/(3/4) OR
S/R = 4/3

therefore, R/S < S/R

r/s=3/4,
s/r = (2/3)/(1/2) = 2/3*2/1 = 4/3.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Both r and s are positive, r/s < s/r if s > r

From (1), r/3s = 1/4 -> r/s = 3/4 -> 4r = 3s. This suggest s is larger and so r/s wilb less tha s/r

From (2), s = r+4. Again, we know s is larger so r/s < s/r.
