If Set A = {x, 2, 1, 4, 7}, which could not be a possible value for the range of Set A?

A. 5
B. 6
C. 8
D. 9
E. 10

Testing the options . option A = 5 could not be a possible value for the range of Set A because 7-1 = 6 which is already greater than 5.

Therefore option A = 5 is the answer.

Give me +1 Kudos if you like the explanation. Thanks.

1,2,4,7
Range for these numbers is 6(highest-lowest when arranged in ascending order)
X can either be less than 1 or greater than 7
In such case range will always be greater than 6

If x is be 1 and 7
Then range would remain 6

Only option A is less than 6
