If the average of 5 numbers is -10 then the sum of the five will be 5*(-10) = -50

=> x1+x2+x3+x4+x5 = - 50 and we know that the sum of three number is 16

Then x1+x2+ 16 = - 50 => x1+x2= -66 to find the average we divide by two equal to -33 => Answer A

If the sum of two number is x,

\(\frac{16 + x}{5} = -10\)(from question stem)
\(16+ x = -50\)
\(x = -50 - 16 = -66\)
Hence, average of 2 numbers is \(\frac{-66}{2} = -33\)(Option A)
