(B) 8
(C) 12

Let's say there was one position and two candidates A and B.
Then there would be 2 ways to fill this - A or B

Let's say there are two positions and two candidates each A and B are running for position 1 and C and D are running for position 2.
Now we have 2*2 ways (AC, AD, BC, BD)

Keep going for 3 and then 4 positions.

restrictions! thats why...

Two specific ppl are running for each position..obviously they cant take other positions.
