20. If x and y are integers and are greater than 1, is x a multiple of y?

(1) 3y^2 + 7y = x
gives x = (3y+7)y which is of the form x = ny . Is this sufficient to prove that it's a multiple? I guess the additional y in the multiplying factor is throwing me off here.

(2) x^2 - x is a multiple of y
Can't get it in the form of y=nx, so no

I will rather go for plugging.

Statement 1: say y=2, we get x=16 => multiple
say y=3, we get x=48 => multiple , therefore sufficient.

Statement 2: multiple answers. => insufficient

Ans = A
