- $$X*Y = even$$, either X or Y is even; or both X and Y are even.
- NOT SUFFICIENT, X can be even or odd.

Statement 2
- $$x=6y$$ --> $$x=2*3*y$$.
- Any numbers multiple of 2 is even. Therefore, X must be even.
- SUFFICIENT

is x = even,
Statement 1 : x*y = even can mean that either x or y can be even. hence insufficient.
Statement 2 : x=6y, or x=2*3y which is of 2n format and hence an even number. hence sufficient.
