target is \(4x^2 + xy + y^3\) even

#1
x – y = 5
possible when either of x or y is even and odd
insufficient to say that target is yes because if y is even then we get yes and if y is odd then we get no
insufficient
#2y is a prime number greater than 17
y is odd
x is not known
from 1 &2
y is odd so x will be even
therefore
target is not even
sufficient
option C

I took 65 seconds
option C is right
as 1 does tell us whether X or Y is odd
2 tell us Y is odd so X must be even combing both
So C is Answere
