S1. When x^3+y^3 is divided by 4, the remainder is 1.

S2. When x^2+y^2 is divided by 8, the remainder is 3.

D. from both statements, it is known that either of one statement is even and the other one is odd. so the at least one even integer is enough to say that the product of xy is even.

1) the sum needs to be odd, either x or y is even, suff

It has to be D

for each stmt to be divisible by 4 and 8 yet leave a remainder, either x or y has to be even or odd.
even * odd = even.
