(1) \(y^x = 3000 + y^{(x –1)}\)

(2) x > 1000

Important thing to note is that 'y' is positive (NOT a positive integer BUT positive)
Is y^x more than 1000 ?

s1) y^x is 3000 added to something (which is definitely positive). This makes y^x more than 3000.
Sufficient

s2) Here we are only given information about 'x'. So let us plug in some numbers for 'y'.
eg y=1 & x=2000 -----> y^x =1 NOT MORE THAN 1000
eg y=2000 & x=2000 -----> y^x >1000

Not sufficient
