Job ex(6 years)- first 4 years - Mean stack developer - developed softwares for e-commerce companies and indulged in client negotiations.
2 years in e-learning company(Tutorialspoint). First year as a content engineer and now promoted as SME(Subject Module expert)
Extra curricular activities - Volunteered many events at university level and secured Certificate of excellence at national level essay competition.
Short term goal - Technical strategist in MNC's such as Deloitte, Mckinsy, etc
I would like to get utmost knowledge about how a company organizes its activities. That experience would help me in achieving my long term goal.
Longterm goal - Entrepreneurship.

I am an engineering grad with 8.98 cgpa from NIT, female, working in banking sector(currently in a govt bank). I am aiming for IIM Ahmd PGPX for 2021-2022 batch, (the round 2 applications deadline is 19th october), but not yet done well with my preps. So I might need to apply in 3rd round ( by Dec last). Im apprehensive and tensed about the chances. any suggestions please.

- Dealt with Procurement of services and works, Utility shifting,Land Acquisition as per New R&R ACT-2013, Forest and Environmental Clearances, Laison with other Govt Departments/Field PIUs/PMC,Contract/Project Management

3.To make my decision making more of data/fact driven rather than hit and trial , to develop well structured approach for solving problems and to develop multiple prospectives(participative learning in IIMs help me to achieve this)
4. Networking
5. Infrastructure sector will witness huge growth in coming days for our country transition to First world economy and i feel mba will develop my expertise to prepare myself for future leadership roles

Hi Karan,
You have a decent GMAT score and versatile experiences across two different Govt. organizations. Experience in handling world bank-funded projects is a great distinguishing factor in your profile. Along with this, skills such as IT management, business development, and crisis management make your profile very diverse. However, the essence lies in the way you convey your achievements to the admission committee in the SoP/essays. There is a big difference in the language and terminologies used in Government/PSU environment and the outside business world. You need to accordingly narrate your work experience in a language that is more accepted in the business world. For example, using "resolution of conflicts and critical issues" instead of "handling of various litigations against the department", "change management" instead of "Supervised /initiated various reforms", etc. Narrating your story in such a language will help the adcom to connect better with your story. With 10+ years of work ex, IIM A & C would be your best bet. You can also apply for ISB & IIM B.
As far as your post-MBA goals are concerned, you can either change your role or industry or both. You can very well opt for business development/project management roles in the infrastructure sector. You can also look for strategy/consulting roles in companies like PwC, KPMG as these companies have lots of Govt. clients, and prefer candidates with past Govt experience.
