SPLIT1) WORD AFTER COMMA SHOULD BE A NOUN SUCH AS "A TREATISE" BECAUSE THE WORD AFTER THE COMMA MUST ANSWER THE QUESTION: WHAT DID LUCRETIA PUBLISHED IN 1850? ANS: A TREATSIE. A AND B ARE OUT.

SPLIT2) PARALLELISM: "AND FOR CHANGES" AT THE END OF THE SENTENCE MEANS YOU THERE IS A LIST. THE PREVIOUS PART MUST BE PARALLEL => "FOR EQUAL POLITICAL" FITS WELL. C AND D ARE OUT.

SPLIT3) VER-ING MODIFIER => WORD "ARGUING" AFTER THE COMMA => THE VERB-ING MODIFIER IS MISPLACED. WHAT WE NEED IS CLARITY. WHAT COMES AFTER THE COMMA MUST DEFINE WHAT LUCIANA PUBLISHED. INSTEAD WORD "ARGUING" AFTER COMMA IS MODIFYING THE PREVIOUS PART, NOT WHAT THE AUTHOR INTENDS TO DO. THE SUBJECT OF VER-ING AND VER-ED MODIFIERS IS LONG. A AND B ARE OUT.
