In a 800 m race around a stadium having the circumference of
20 m, the top runner meets the last runner on the 5th minute of the race.
If the top runner runs at twice the speed of the last runner, what is the time taken by the top runner to finish the race?

1) 20 minutes
2) 15 minutes
3) 10 minutes
4) 5 minutes

BG.......r u sure the numbers are correct?? I think the circumference should be 200m and not 20 m, wherein the answer would be C which is 10 minutes.....otherwise I dont match any answers...........

Sorry I have to change my answer. It can not be 20 minutes. With 20 m circumferance and with the following assumptions, the answer would be 100 miuntes.

With 200 m circumferance and the following assumptions, the answer would be 10 minutes.

assumptions in my solution:

(1) The top runner meets the last runner for the first time

(2) The top runner meets the last runner at the end of 5 minutes.

(2) The top runner runs at a constant speed throughout the whole race.

Absolutely agree with you guys, it is 200, but the interesting thing is that the original question is with 20 and the explanation is with 200 m.Apparantly a mistake.
