This is a very tricky question :-D .

It does not matter what the combination is!!! The orange candy will always be the cheapest one and one of the orange candy will be given free. The discount in both the cases is therefore 30 cents and the discount difference is 0. The correct option is A.

Bad wording. Logic would imply that you'd get a discount on single unit of candy, but the question does not specify this.

With the current deal, if 2 strawberry candies and an orange candy are purchased then the orange candy won’t be charged. If 2 orange candies and a strawberry candy are purchased then one of the orange candies won't be charged.

Thus, the difference in the discounts will be zero.
