In a certain company, what is the number of female executive managers to the number of male executive managers?

(1)the number of female executive mangers is 5/8of the number of the total executive managers

(2)the number of female executive managers is 3/5 of the number of male executive managers

because No specific numbers are in the Question and the case (1)(2)

However, the answer seems to be D, because the ratio of female to male managers is on both sides (1)and(2)

Which one do you think is correct?

thank you

The question clearly asks for the ratio only. So, the absolute numbers are inconsequential. The answer should be D.

number of executive managers = x = w+m
number of male executive managers = m
number of female executive managers = w = x-m

St1:
w = 5/8(w+m)
w = 5/8w + 5/8m

Can work out w/m. Sufficient.

St2:
w = 3/5m. Can work out w/m. Sufficient.
