I choss A because:

the patchwork ...... bustles
C & D are out because of who and which .
unfortunately don't have the official answer

"many of whom are " clearly refers to the farm workers. E is a contender, but "many are" stay stranded.

As the patchwork of green fields is singular only B and E stands a chance.
