Frankly, I wasn't too sure of A (to me the "for" after as well as could have been avoided) So I used POE.

(A) as well as for men -- Okay. Lets keep it. I don't like it though.
(B) as well as the men -- Incorrect. "the men". Meaning distortion and incorrect parallelism.
(C) and men too -- Incorrect. "and" "too". Redundant.
(D) and men as well -- Incorrect. "and" "as well as" Redundant.
(E) and also men -- Incorrect. "and" "also". Redundant.

Left with A, so wager on A.

Akurian -- Question. The correct idiomatic usage is "X as well as Y". In this case if X is a preposition plus noun, then the same structure would be followed by Y in all the cases? Or could it be a case of ellipses as well?

406. In the fall of 1985, only 10 percent of the women entering college planned to major in education, while 28 percent chose business, making it the most popular major for women as well as for men.
(A) as well as for men ( for is not needed)
(B) as well as the men
(C) and men too ( needes some comparison)
(D) and men as well as well as is correct idiomn
(E) and also men ( needes some comparison)

I would go with A. for women as well as for men. Agree for is unnecessary, but seems more parallel than using "the" in B.

(A) as well as for men
(B) as well as the men
(C) and men too
(D) and men as well
(E) and also men - would it have been preferred choice, had it been "and the men" only :?:

to me for in option A seemed little redundant :?

Any idea folks :|

A..as well as is correct

(A) as well as for men ----- for man is parallel with for women
(B) as well as the men ----- the men is not parallel with Women
(C) and men too ----------
(D) and men as well
(E) and also men

Basically none is as parallel as is option "A"
