In the figure below, what is the ratio of$$\frac{Area of Triangle ABD}{Area of Triangle ACD}$$=?

(1) AB || CD
(2) BC || AD

Hi..

In both the triangles, the base is same that is AD.
Now the AREA of two triangles will be same if their height is same.

Let's see what does the statements tell us..
1) AB||CD
AB could be shorter or longer than CD.... ANS will be NO
AB=CD ...... ANS will be YES
Insufficient

Since base is parallel to the line on which the third vertex lies, height will be same
ANS will always be YES
Sufficient
