B) sqrt3/2

From the figure, Angle(ABC) = 90 degrees {Any triangle in the semicircle with its base = diameter is a right triangle)

AB^2 = 2^2 - 1^2 = 4-1
AB = sqrt(3)

Area = 1/2 x base x height
= 1/2 x sqrt(3) x 1
= sqrt(3)/2
