Idiom : from X to Y
"If" is used for conditional statements - if X, then Y

A) whether water on Mars exists and identifying
- "from X and Y" - incorrect
- wrong

B) if on Mars water exists or not and identifying
- "if" used for conditional statements. For statements denoting an optional case - "whether" should be used
- Wrong

C) whether water exists on Mars to identifying
- use of "whether" - correct
- "from X to Y" used correctly
- Correct

D) if water existed on Mars to identifying
- use of "if" - incorrect
- "existed" changes the meaning.
-wrong

E) existence of water on Mars to identification of
- "establishing" is not parallel to "identification"
