I think the answer should be B, because there is no way any solution of a-b=5 can be such that a<=0 and b>=0 which is area S.

Hence the definite answer from option 2 is , if a-b=5 is a,b does NOT lie in area S.

Can someone elaborate where my reasoning is going wrong?

This is the graph of all equation. In fact, either A or B is sufficient because the graph doesn't intersect with the area S. Hence the correct answer should be D.
