In what ratio must a person mix three kinds of tea costing Rs.60/kg, Rs.75/kg and Rs.100 /kg so that the resultant mixture when sold at Rs.96/kg yields a profit of 20%?
A. 1 : 2 : 4
B. 3 : 7 : 6
C. 1 : 4 : 2
D. 1 : 4 : 3
E. 1 : 4 : 4
I found this approach fool proof
Resultant mixture : x+y+z
SP = CP + 0.20 CP
SP = 1.2CP
1.2 * (60 x + 75y + 100z) = 96 ( x+y+z)
60 x + 75y + 100z = 80 x + 80y + 80 z
20z = 20 x + 5y
4z = 4x + y
No just put back the ratios to check the value, Only C satisfies
8 = 4 + 4

Many of life's failures happen with people who do not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.
