Any risk of injury cannot be assumed or inferred there is a possibility that the person may run a risk of injury - inference is something that also must be true when you infer it - A out

B.Individuals who do not stretch regularly or drink enough water have a high risk of injury from physical activity.

High risk or low risk is not stated in the argument and may or may not be true

C.A regimen of stretching and drinking at least 64 ounces of water is the best way to improve performance during physical activity and to reduce the risk of injury from such activity.

BEST - it may be a way to imporve performance but may not be the BEST way

D.A program of stretching and drinking at least 64 ounces of water will improve the performance of some individuals during physical activity.

It clearly states that "in some individuals if those individuals " so some individuals will improve the performance

E.Only stretching is required to lengthen a person's muscles

ONLY superlatives not sure if this is the only way and it would go beyond the scope of the argument to assume it - E out

How can we relate "some individuals" to "those" in the stimulas..?
I am getting confused regarding use of Some in the answer choice....

How can we relate "some individuals" to "those" in the stimulas..?
I am getting confused regarding use of Some in the answer choice....

Passage says that "Muscles can be lengthened in some individuals if those individuals stretch and drink at least 64 ounces of water everyday". As it does include some here, it should justify the use of "some" in D.

Premise 1:- Increases in the length of a person's muscles have been shown to improve performance during physical activity and to reduce the risk of injury from such activity.
Premise 2:- Muscles can be lengthened in some individuals if those individuals stretch and drink at least 64 ounces of water everyday.

Which of the following can be correctly inferred from the statements above?

(A) Individuals who stretch and drink 64 ounces of water each day do not run any risk of injury from physical activity. - This broadens the scope not all individuals can achieve this as per the premises stated above hence not the correct answer.
(B) Individuals who do not stretch regularly or drink enough water have a high risk of injury from physical activity - Incorrect. The premises states that drinking water stretching is one of the way to lengthen muscles in some of the individuals.
(C) A regimen of stretching and drinking at least 64 ounces of water is the best way to improve performance during physical activity and to reduce the risk of injury from such activity. - The argument does not state that this is the best way since this choice contains extraneous info this is incorrect.
(D) A program of stretching and drinking at least 64 ounces of water will improve the performance of some individuals during physical activity - Perfect! This program can result in improved performance in "some" individuals. This does not generalize rather it merely connects premise 1 and premise 2 to form a valid inference / conclusion.
(E) Only stretching is required to lengthen a person's muscles. - Incorrect as it omits other possibilities.
