Congrats to those earning the coveted spots in INSEAD!
Unfortunately, I am not one of the lucky one. Last Tue, I received an email from INSEAD to ding me. The email, whose tone was not too friendly, did not tell me the reason why I was declined. It asked me not to re-apply either, even if I re-applied, it would not be likely that I could be accepted, given the fierce competition among strong candidates. The email case as if it told me that's the end of the world.
Worse still, one day earlier, I sent out a letter to update the AdCom my achievements made throughout the past 6 months and to restate my commitment and interest in INSEAD. To save my critical conditions, I sent the softcopy of my letter immediately via email to the decision maker (who sent the decline letter to me). I sincerely requested the AdCom to re-consider my application with the letter I just sent one day before. Since then, I prayed everyday to get INSEAD's good news........ On Sat, 2 days ago, when I woke up in the morning, I got her reply that after reviewing my letter, the AdCom still maintained their decision.
I was out of luck, as I always blamed myself, what if I sent the decision-maker an email attached with the pdf of the letter, would it have changed their decision? My world might be changed because of one day difference. Sigh........
Btw, on the same day I sent the letter, i.e one day before I got the decline email, I bought a package of hotel and air-tickets to Singapore for the In-house Event on 25 Mar. I should have waited one day more to buy the package.....
Anyway, good luck to all of you!! I will still stay tuned to this forum, and look forward to hearing good news from each of you.
