This one's long, but Randy Pausch's lecture really got me inspired at a time when I was really down. A bit long for sure, but worth it....

Hi bb / Friends,

Adding my list of movies which helped me keep going:

1. Peaceful Warrior:
[Reveal] Spoiler:
A chance encounter with a stranger changes the life of a college gymnast

2. The Pursuit of Happyness:
[Reveal] Spoiler:
A struggling salesman takes custody of his son as he's poised to begin a life-changing professional
endeavor. Christopher's ability to focus, despite the constant set backs, helps him reach his life goals.

3. October Sky:
[Reveal] Spoiler:
The true story of Homer Hickam, a coal miner's son who was inspired by the first Sputnik launch
to take up rocketry against his father's wishes. This movie is about following your dreams.

4. Soul Surfer:
[Reveal] Spoiler:
The true story of teen surfer Bethany Hamilton, who lost her arm in a shark attack and courageously
overcame all odds to become a champion again, through her sheer determination and unwavering faith.
If a champion surfer with one arm doesn't make you want to step up your healthy living, we don't know
what will!

5. Coach carter:
[Reveal] Spoiler:
Inspired by the true story of controversial Richmond, California basketball coach Ken Carter, who
received both high praise and staunch criticism when he made national news for benching his entire
team undefeated team for poor academic performance. Tension mounted as the Richmond High Oilers
faced the upcoming basketball championship. The town was wild with excitement over their undefeated
team and the bleachers were filled with cheering fans for every game. No one could imagine that on
January 4, 1999 the community would erupt in dissention and so many lives would change forever when
coach Carter padlocked the gym, refusing the players access for failing to keep up their grade.
Teamwork and good leadership goes a long way for this team.

6. A beautiful mind:
[Reveal] Spoiler:
The biography of John Forbes Nash Jr., an award winning mathematician, and his struggle with
schizophrenia.
We can learn about perseverance from this genius mathematician

7. Caste away:
[Reveal] Spoiler:
An ambitious corporate troubleshooter is stranded on a deserted island for five years, eventually
returning to society as a changed man.
The power of love is one of the most inspiring things about this film.

8. The Shawshank Redemption:
[Reveal] Spoiler:
A man discovers himself after he is sentenced to life in prison. A common choice for ‘favorite film of all
times’, this movie holds still #1 spot on IMDB and was nominated for seven Oscars and hold a place in
hearts of millions 20 years after its release
The prisoner reminds us of the inability to lock up one's mind and spirit.

9. 42:
[Reveal] Spoiler:
The story of Jackie Robinson, the first African-American to play in American Major League Baseball,
focusing on the two years of his life after he entered the game in 1947.
Jackie Robinson teaches us how to fight prejudice in this true story.

10. Rocky:
[Reveal] Spoiler:
Rocky Balboa, a small-time boxer, gets a supremely rare chance to fight the heavy-weight
champion, Apollo Creed, in a bout in which he strives to go the distance for his self-respect

11. The blind side:
[Reveal] Spoiler:
The story of Michael Oher, a homeless and traumatized boy who became an All American football player and first round NFL draft pick with the help of a caring woman and her family

12. Kungfu Panda Series (2008, 2011, 2016)
[Reveal] Spoiler:
Kung Fu Panda has a familiar message, but the pleasing mix of humor, swift martial arts action, and
colorful animation makes for winning entertainment.

13. The great debaters
[Reveal] Spoiler:
A true story of a black team debating HBS

14. Whiplash

15. Lean on me
[Reveal] Spoiler:
watch out for Morgan Freeman's performance as he leads students against drugs and violence towards acedemics

Woww!!! Dont make me crazy plss!! Dont force me to believe that my gmat is too loww!!! :( (Just kidding)

Well, its simply great!! But why they gave so much time to the smart, running professor Jan Rivkin!! :) (He is really too fast in moving from here to there!)

But last sentence sums up "Some things never get old".

Thanks bb!!

it seemed like it had the focus on undergrad. It would be good to get feedback from Nink as to how much overlap it has with MBA. I will ping him

Lebron James is epic and I don't there will be another one like him in our generation. In addition, Kobe will probably be remembered as the next MJ. The way this man elevates with his inhumanly quick reflexes will probably forever be a mystery. Granted that yes, he does have Phil Jackson as a coach, but in terms of personal skill and team-play effort, he is unrivaled. I feel that Lebron doesn't possess these characteristics, he's more of a one-man-show. But in any event, Kobe has been pretty much my motivation in my GMAT journey so far. He just gets me pumped to go play ball haha (HD quality) :-D
