150<N<180

From S1:

When N is divided by 20, it leaves a remainder 0f 4. Only 160 is divisible by 20 in the specified range. Then the value of N is 164.
Sufficient.

From S2:

When N is divided by 25, the remainder is 3.
possible values of N are 153 and 178.
Hence Insufficient.

A is the answer.

Why is not D?
In S2, both 153 and 178 lie between 150 and 180?

Why is not D?
In S2, both 153 and 178 lie between 150 and 180?

We need a unique value of N and 153 and 178 both satisfies. Hence N cannot be a single number

We need a unique answer to fulfill the statement. In statement 2 we are getting 2 answers. So its not sufficient

The answer cannot be D. D means --> Both statements are independently sufficient to answer the question. However, in this question only statement 1 helps us arrive at a definite answer. Statement 2 has 2 possibilities. I hope this answers your question.

Solution:

As per Statement 1: Possible values of N={164}. Since there is only 1 possible value. N=164. Sufficient
As per Statement 2: Possible values of N={153, 178} Since there are 2 possibilities for N. Not Sufficient

Hence, Answer is A
