A a/b = 3 can be two possibilities here.

denominator b #0 meaning a = 6|3 and b = 2|1. giving sufficient result.

or a= 3b meaning a=0 | 3 | 6 for b = 0|1|2. not sufficient.

I will prefer the first one as the expression change is not done there.

Thus sufficient.

B a=3b means a=0 | 3 | 6 for b = 0|1|2. not sufficient.

thus A.

Step 1: Statement 1 tells us that a/b = 3.
If a = b was true, a/b would equal 1. Since we are told a/b = 3 here, we know a is not equal to b.
Sufficient.

Step 2: Statement 2 tells us that a = 3b.
This means that a is 3 times the size of b. However a and b could both be zero and this statement would still be true. Therefore this statement does not tell us if a = b or not.
Insufficient.
