Hi there,

Your GMAT is good. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities currently? I don't think Stern is necessarily out of range for you - to have a strong application, you would need to get strong recommenders, communicate your professional and personal impact fully on your resume, make a strong case for why real estate investing/analysis is a good fit for you, and show the AdCom a multidimensional view of you through the second essay. Hope that helps a bit!

Stats

Scores:
GRE: 159 V, 160 Q
GMAT #1: 670 (Q39, V42)
GMAT #2: 690 (Q46, V38)
GMAT #3: 720 (Q48, V40)

Undergrad GPA: 3.25

MBA Info

Goal of MBA: Change/Elevate Career. Learned relatively quickly into full-time employment that working in sports was not for me. I finally landed a job analyzing real estate about a year ago, and while it is still a significant improvement from working in sports and bank operations, I still feel under-utilized and behind my peers in the industry. I want to make a change, and I feel this is the best way to go about breaking into a more quant-intensive real estate role, either within the front office of a bank's securitized products group or at a smaller, more individual-deal-focused firm.

Thoughts? What are my chances? Happy to provide any additional info!

Hi Deepika - Thanks for writing! I think it would help to boost the GMAT a few points given that these programs are competitive especially for Indian IT applicants. Aside from that, it will be important to explain the motivations behind your career goals (why Product Management appeals to you vs. staying in technical analysis). Hope that helps a bit!

Hi,

Can you please review my profile and suggest me some insights? Its urgent so a quick response is appreciated.

26 Year Male Indian.

GMAT:

710 ( Q50, V35, IR8). This is second attempt. Earlier was 690. I scored 770 and 760 in Mocks leading upto the exam.
Super disappointed with current score. If I retake the exam then I will probably miss out on NYU's 15th Nov Deadline. Thoughts?

Work Experience:

Total 4 years.

Post MBA Goals:

Lead Data Analytics and Data Science Teams at Fortune 500 (Banking preferred). Explore possibilities of leveraging Data Science in PE/IB to value companies.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR

[*]Interests: Organizing 15-30-45 day meditation retreats and sessions, Certified Yoga Instructor

[*]Online Courses: Quant Modeling & Accounting (Wharton), Business Metrics for Data Driven Companies (Duke), Analytics Edge (MIT)

Questions:

1) Do I have realistic chance for NYU? OR we can only talk after a GMAT of 740?
2) Would Adcoms consider this a typical Indian Male Engineer profile or this profile stands out?
3) I can't write GMAT again before NYU's 15th Nov deadline. Should I apply with this profile? OR apply in Jan Round?

Please Note- I am on a 15 day trip with family in first half of November so writing or preparing for GMAT is out of question at that time.
