Even if you do try negative numbers it’ll produce the same effect.

Negative numbers follow the same even/odd rules as positive numbers. There's never any reason, in an even/odd question, to consider negative numbers separately, since you won't learn anything from them that you don't already learn just by looking at positive numbers.
