Hi Scott & Omari,

I am a prospective MBA applicant from India applying to US Business schools.
I did my B. Tech(Civil) from one of the top tier engineering colleges in India where the medium of instruction was English. Additionally, all my earlier education has been from schools where the medium of instruction was english.
I gave the GMAT twice first i got 650 (quant 51-99%ile, Verbal 27-45%ile)-had a bad day. Second was better 740 (Q 50-95%ile, V 39-89%ile). Do you recommend taking the TOEFL before applying ?

Please give a prompt reply. I would be highly grateful.

regards
Abhisar

It depends on the school, but if English is not your native language and you didn't receive your degree in a predominately English-speaking country, than schools will usually require a TOEFL score.

For example:

Thanks for the prompt reply. It really helped to decide.
I would be better off with TOEFL than without one.
