A

The question is similar to x<0 and x>1 ?

1. x^2 >1 --> x<-1 and x>1, sufficient
2. x>-1, x can belong to (0,1),so x^2 is NOT greater than x.
and x can be >1, so x^2 IS GREATER than x
not suff

A for me too.

X^2 >1 means -> x could be + or -ve but x^2 would always be +ve sufficient

stmt-2 ->x > -1, if x=0, x^2=0 this insuff.
